I had Rotator cuff surgery. This was even more effective that the ice machine in that it is smaller so you can hit the small spots that hurt so much. By varying the amount of time you leave it in one place you can do a "deep cooling". Very effective! Worth every penny.This is much more user-friendly to me than trying to tolerate a stationary ice pack. Well made, great size, and effective! Affordable too.Stays cold a long time. A little too cold at first but great productAbsolutely LOVE this cryosphere ball! It is so easy to use and no mess! I got it for knee pain after a workout. It took away the pain and the swelling. Planning on buying a second one so I can do both knees at once!Stays cool and feels soothing ! Also, easy to grip!Love that you don't have to deal with melting ice or water dripping everywhere. I will say the heat description isn't as great as they say but the icing is perfect. Stays cold for a long time alsoI was so glad that my physical therapist recommended this product. It works as it says you can put it in a freezer to cool it off or put a hot rag around it from the microwave around it to warm it up. Brilliant product!So, honestly i was dubious on this product and what its was but this was short lived. My wife is a migraine sufferer and happened to be in mid Migraine when it arrived so we tested it out.With not to much pressure, it was run along key areas across her neck and shoulder areas and translating her comments to into something i can type here, she was extremely pleased with the relief this simple device gave to here Migraine.No, its not a cure, but certainly for my wife it aided in lifting some of that deep deep migraine pain. I am in no doubt now that this rollerball will work well on muscles after training etc..I would definitely recommend the product.I wasnt sure whether these would work or not and was very surprised to see how effective they are! You can leave them in the freezer overnight and get a good 1 hour of constant cold use out of them. You can also boil a pan of water and then leave them in the water, (turn off the heat) for 8 minutes and they will stay hot for around an hour too. A brilliant bit of kit for injury relief. My whole family uses it!I ordered the newer version with the ABS screw collar. Seems very well made and the top screws/unscrews from the base very easily.The action of the rollerball is good, sometimes sticks a little but I've found this is when rollering over clothing. It is a smoother action when on the skin which I presume is getting some natural oils from the skin which makes it glide easier. Not tried it with any massage oil yet but I imagine this would help, and the beauty about this is its so easy to take apart and clean.I'm yet to try heating or freezing the ball. I imagine this could have an impact on the action due to expansion or contraction but this is the same with any brand of rollerball with this feature.Its a good size, about right in fact. Any bigger and would be too big to handle, any smaller and wouldn't have the same massage effect. It's great for the chest, arms and if you have a willing partner, brilliant for the back muscles. I often use a lacrosse ball but sometimes difficult to position and roll. This is much better.Overall, a little more pricey than others on amazon but I give this the thumbs up.I bought this for my husband as a bit of a side-Christmas present. He suffers badly from shoulder and neck pain and, having had a stroke, can find it difficult to hold things. This little things is marvellous. It's easy to hold and because you can move it to exactly the point that hurts, he's found he's had a lot of benefit from using it.It's so much better than I (or he, to be fair when he opened it!) expected!I have suffered from sciatica for 16 years, and when I catch it in time I can deal with it easily using a backboard. However, at times when busy, I don't catch it early and end up in weeks of pain and a limp and paying money to see the osteopath, weeks on the backboard, and painkillers. So decided to try one of these while they were on offer, and was surprised by the extra pain relief it gives. I have even been using it to help my tennis elbow, ok I could use a cool pack for the, but while I have the ball out I may as well use it.
